There are a few common errors that can appear during the HRIS integration process and on an ongoing basis during our daily HRIS data syncs.
If you run into an error during your initial integration setup, please reach out to support@goethena.com for troubleshooting support. It's possible that Ethena was given insufficient permissions to access your user data or that there was a timeout with the sync; we'd be happy to help you troubleshoot!
At each subsequent HRIS integration sync, admins will receive an email if there were any errors with the sync. These emails don't necessarily imply that the whole integration is broken; it could be just that certain aspects of certain team members' data was missing in the sync.
Here are the most frequently reported errors from these emails and what to do about them:
- Missing Email or Name: Email and name are both required fields for Ethena profiles. If a profile in your HRIS is missing one of these data points, we won't be able to create an Ethena profile for that user.
- Missing Country or State: This error means Ethena does not have access to location-level data for this user, which is required to create an Ethena profile. A profile will not be created for this user automatically until this error is resolved. If needed, you can manually create a profile for them in the interim.
- Missing Manager: This error means that the manager ID of the user(s) listed does not map back to a user in Ethena. This error does not stop the profiles of the manager's direct reports from being created; it simply means that we won't be able to determine who their manager is for reporting purposes.
None of the above errors will prevent other users from syncing over to Ethena. Once you resolve the errors, you'll stop being reminded of them at the next HRIS sync.
If you're having trouble resolving an error, please feel free to reach out to us at support@goethena.com so that we can further troubleshoot for you!
