Inactive and Terminated user statuses work the same way, but come from a different source (HRIS vs. manual, respectively). Deleted is a more permanent status and is only recommended in the case of a user request to delete all associated data. Please see below for more information on each option.
Terminated
A terminated user is someone who has been marked as terminated in the Ethena app. This would be completed on the Team page shown here:
Inactive
A user who is marked as inactive has been marked as terminated or removed from an HRIS integration (such as Rippling, BambooHR, Gusto etc). Once the integration syncs after this change, learners will then be marked as "Inactive".
Any user who has the status of Inactive or Terminated will not receive training or notifications and will also not be counted in your active user count. You'll still have their learning history available and can set them back to Active in the future if needed.
Deleted
Just below the option to manually terminate a user, you'll see the option to permanently delete them.
Selecting "Delete" will completely erase your team member's learning history and account with Ethena. This is non-reversible so once you choose it, you will have to re-enter the team member's information if you choose to re-enroll them in training.
