Ready to assign a new training to your team members in Ethena? See below for a few simple steps on how to get started.
Step 1: Navigate to the dashboard tab in your Ethena Admin Hub and select ‘+ Add Training’
Step 2: Choose which course you’d like to assign out to team members & input a Campaign Name
💡 Ethena tip: Your campaign name will be visible to learners.
Step 3: Select whether you’d like to send an Ethena Training Campaign (recommended) or a Custom Training Campaign
-
Ethena Training Campaign: Rely on Ethena recommendations to assign the right content to the right roles/locations, at the right cadence (based on local laws). Designed to meet all requirements. Training logic is automated, so you can track your entire team’s training in one place.
- Custom Training Campaign: Choose your content and cadence. Love Ethena’s content, but want to send out only a few sections at a time? This may be right for you!
Step 3: Select or review your training content
Review the content that will be assigned to your team (Ethena Training Campaign) or select the content you’d like to include in your training (Custom Training Campaign).
Step 4: Set your initial training date & determine your training frequency
Step 5: Manage Learners: Determine who should receive the training
Select between these two options:
-
Ongoing Auto-Enroll Rules: Select this if you’d like to automate enrollment for new and existing team members over time. When you add new learners to Ethena (via CSV or HRIS), if they meet your auto-enroll criteria, they will get new training assigned the business day after they are created as a learner.
-
One-Time Population: Select this if you’d like to choose a distinct group of team members for a single training campaign. New hires, team changes, etc. will not be reflected in this list.
Then, add filters or upload a CSV to define the correct user population.
Step 6: New learners / role changes (for recurring campaigns only)
This setting allows you to set a buffer period for new learners who may become eligible for training just before your next annual training date. You can choose to always release training immediately, or to set a ‘deferral period’ of a number of months.
- 💡 Example: If your annual training date is July 1, and you set a two-month deferral period, new hires who join in May and June will not be trained automatically. Their training will be put on hold until the upcoming annual training date in July.
💡 Ethena tip: Most customers use a 2 month deferral period to meet strictest Harassment Prevention requirements, without overtraining. You can change this at any time to extend or shorten your buffer window.
Step 7: Set a timer (for custom training campaigns only)
Optionally set a minimum time requirement for your training. This means that learners will not be able to progress until they reached the time requirement for your training.
For Ethena training campaigns, the timer will be set automatically based on local regulations (if applicable).
Step 8: Choose a deadline
Set your two deadline lengths for the following groups:
- Training Deadline: This will be used as your ongoing deadline length for existing hires.
- New Learner Deadline (for ongoing auto-auto-enroll campaigns only): This will be used when new team members are added into Ethena. Some customers like to give new hires more or less time than existing hires to complete a training.

💡 Ethena tip: Most customers choose a deadline between 30-60 days.
Step 9: Select continuous learning (for some courses only)
Some Ethena courses include the option to automatically enroll team members in micro-lessons throughout the year. These modules are curated and crafted by Ethena’s subject matter experts, based on DOJ best practices, to reinforce key concepts from the course over time. If you enable this, these will be pre-scheduled as they become available in your account. If you disable this, you can still access this content and send it ad hoc to your team as needed.
💡 Ethena tip: Never be surprised by an assignment going to your team by using our Upcoming Assignment Reminders in your Settings > Notifications.
Step 10: Enable Team Insights
Enabling Team Insights will give managers visibility into their team’s completion status for a given campaign.
💡 Ethena tip: In addition to enabling Team Insights visibility, you can enable Team Insights notifications so that managers receive roll-up emails when team members are past due on their training.
Step 11: Enable notifications
This setting enables automated outstanding training reminders. In your notification settings, you can choose the delivery method (email, chat, or both) and cadence (weekly or bi-weekly) for these notifications.
Step 12: Save your work / assign training
Once you’ve made your selections, save your progress! No new training notifications will go out to your team until your assignment launch date. If you choose an assignment to launch the same day that you’re setting up the training, learners are typically able to access training in their Learning Centers within ~15 minutes, and will be notified the next day.
💡 Ethena tip: You can continue to edit your training date, learners assigned, and other selections as needed until your assignment launch date comes.
