You can now create and edit custom training modules directly within Ethena! Ethena allows you to create content in various ways. This feature is available to customers with Ethena Premium packages. Not sure whether you have access? Reach out to your CSM or support@goethena.com.
How to add a custom module in Ethena
- In your Ethena Admin Hub, head to the "Content Library" option in the side bar on the left and select the "+ Add Content" button in the top right

Now you will be taken to the Module creation where you will have the following fields:
- Module Name
- Description (Optional)
- Course (You can choose to create a new course, or add content to an existing Ethena course or custom course)

After you select Create Module, you'll be able to add content in one of three ways. More information on each of these options is available below!
- Generate Complete Training: Upload a PDF and use Ethena's AI Training Builder to create a custom module based on the PDF's contents.
- Build Slide-By-Slide: Build slides one-by-one, either manually or with the help of our AI assistant.
- Upload Finished Training: Upload a complete SCORM training package.
- Once you are done creating your slides, you will see them all listed. Optionally you can click "Reorder" to change the order of the slides or "Preview" at the top to view the full module.
- Finally, choose "Publish" at the top so that the module will be live and AI audio narration and translations will be generated, if enabled. You can now assign it out to your team!
- You can follow these steps to assign the training to your team members.
Generate complete training using our AI training builder
To build a custom module using our AI training builder, all you need to get started is a PDF file on which we'll base the module. Select Generate Complete Training in step 3 above, and then continue with these steps:
- Upload your PDF
- Choose your ideal content length (short, standard, or detailed)
- Select whether you'd like us to include check-on-learning questions (quiz questions) and pulse questions (survey questions) in the course
- Optionally add a custom prompt to give our training builder more direction (Want the course more serious or casual? Have a specific image style in mind? This is the place to share that context!)
- Select Generate Slides. After a few minutes, your training will be ready for review! You'll be taken to a preview of the content, and can either Revise Prompt if you're not happy with the overall content, or Save & Close to move on to editing/publishing.
Build training slide-by-slide
To build slides one-by-one, select Build Slide-by-Slide in step 3 above, and then continue with these steps:

Questions that test learners' knowledge; must be answered correctly in order to continue onto the next slide -
Pulse Question
Questions with no correct answer; used to evaluate a learner's sentiment -

Confirm learners have read and understood company policy or training contents -
Interactive
Dynamic slide types such as slideshow formats (more formats coming soon) -
Video or PDF
Upload a video (MP4) or PDF for users to view -
SCORM (.zip)
Upload a SCORM, xAPI, cmi5, AICC, or LTI training package

- Once you select your preferred slide type, insert content onto the slide. You can also use the 'AI Assist' option at the top of the screen to create or edit the content on the slide. As you edit, you can select 'Preview' in the top right to see what your content will look like once live. Be sure to add a slide title before saving!
- Select Save Slide and publish your content.
Upload complete training via SCORM
To upload a complete SCORM package, select Upload Finished Training in step 3 above. Then upload a zipped (.zip) file of SCORM, xAPI, cmi5, AICC, or LTI content. Add a slide title & estimated training length, then save your content.
Editing your custom content
Once you've created a custom module, you can open and edit any slide by clicking the menu > Edit:
From there, make edits manually or use AI Assist to prompt our AI assistant to make changes for you. For example, select 'Edit Image' and prompt a new image to be generated:
You'll then be able to accept the proposed edits or re-prompt for a different variation.
Adding audio narration and translations for custom content
In your Admin Hub Settings, you're given the option to enable automatic AI translations and automatic AI audio narration for all custom content.
If these are enabled, as soon as you hit 'Publish' for a custom module, translations and audio narrations will be generated and automatically become available for your users.
How to delete a custom course
You may have made a duplicate course and would like to clean up your courses page. Reach out to support@goethena.com and we can delete the course for you!
