Workday Reporting Integration Guide

Ethena's Workday reporting integration is available as an optional add-on for Ethena Premium customers. The goal of this integration is to get records of users' training completions from Ethena onto their Workday profiles; it differs from our standard one-way Workday HRIS integration for user management, which is included for all Premium customers.

Introduction & Data Flow

This is a sync of course completion records per employee running from Ethena back into your company’s Workday instance so that your employee records are up to date with training. Below is a summary of the data flow between Ethena and Workday.

1. A learner in a company completes their assigned training.
2. Ethena has a scheduled program that runs on a regular basis to detect all the recent training completions in your company since the last time a sync occurred, and writes this data to a .csv file according to this example format.
3. Ethena automatically uploads this file to an SFTP server that your company’s Workday instance is configured to be able to securely access.
4. Your company’s Workday instance utilizes the Workday Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB)  or Workday Studio integrations to automatically pull our update files from SFTP and update your employee files with our Ethena training completion record.

Integration Setup

1. Create an SSH key; send the public key to Ethena.
   1. Supported algorithms:

For ED25519: ssh-ed25519

For RSA: rsa-sha2-256, rsa-sha2-512

For ECDSA: ecdsa-sha2-nistp256, ecdsa-sha2-nistp384, ecdsa-sha2-nistp521

2. Optionally, if you would like to use PGP encryption on the file, send us a public PGP key.
3. Ethena will provide the SSH username and details on the server address.
4. Ethena will pair with your company’s IT function to configure your Workday instance to set up automatic SFTP import of our completion record files. You will be able to configure Workday EIB to take the training completion records and append them to your employee files.
   1. When connecting via SFTP, you will need to use supported cryptographic algorithms.
5. We will ensure that an initial ‘catch-up’ sync is established for any already completed training. Daily scheduled syncs will run thereafter, generating csv files for any newly completed training.
